My first encounter with Bordelle was at the old im store on Collins st, Melbourne 2009. I would go in there every couple months to peruse the racks of designer lingerie. I knew what to excpect from the store. Classic pieces like La Perla would always tempt me, but one day I made a discovery. Hanging on the racks was a corset that resembled La Perla Black Label mixed with Marquis De Sade. This piece was made of perforated leather, heavy duty elastic and a big gold zip. To be honest it looked a little ugly hanging on the racks amongst the sumptuous lace lingerie, but it really intrigued me. The style was extremely unusual, I had never seen anything like it before and that alone caught my attention. I was encouraged to try it on for fun, so of course I did, and I was pleasantly surprised. This piece mixed sex shop fetish wear with classy corsetry. It was underwear/outerwear and I wanted to own it! The price point however didn't agree with my desire and I walked out of the store with a memory I would never forget. Bordelle... You stole my heart...
Since that day I have been following Bordelles progress and watched excitedly as the label quickly climbed the lingerie ladder. This brand holds such a niche market that somehow managed to mix high end fashion with extreme fetish wear. Bordelle made their signature taboo style uber trendy amongst the fashion set and gathered a cult following all over the world. Even in Australia it has already made it's mark.
